This month's photograph, Where the Light Turns, began its life as something completely different.
I originally photographed it at a wedding, slipping a prism between my lens and a couple standing beneath a brilliant sunset. The horizon refracted through the glass, bending the evening light into a glowing pool of gold, orange, and red.
For this month's print, I returned to that photograph and found another image hiding inside it.
The couple is gone.
What remains is the light itself.
Bent. Refracted. Changed.
Still beautiful.
A fitting reminder for a season of transition.
